Kombucha is NOT the gut-healing hero people think it is… especially if you have acid reflux. 🙃

If your gut is already inflamed, bloated, or burning, adding a highly acidic, carbonated, sugar-fed drink isn’t healing.

It’s fuel on the fire. 🔥

Yes, it’s fermented. Yes, it has probiotics.

But it also has residual sugar, yeast, caffeine, carbonation… and alcohol. 😬

For a sensitive, inflamed gut? That’s a perfect storm. ⛈️

Here’s what most people get wrong 👇

🚨 Reflux usually isn’t too much acid.
It’s too little acid + poor digestion.

Low acid → food ferments → gas builds → pressure rises → reflux.

🏆 Try this instead:
½–1 tbsp apple cider vinegar in warm water
20–30 minutes before your biggest meal.

✅Better digestion.
✅Less fermentation.
✅Calmer reflux before it starts.

What a weekend in Atlanta with 🏁

🏎️Watching Chad roll out onto the track with “WE FIX REFLUX: GET OFF YOUR ACID” on the hood of his car…I knew it was going to be a killer day! 💪 🔥

🚨 Acid reflux is NOT a PPI deficiency.

Most reflux isn’t caused by TOO much stomach acid, but too little acid. 👀

Because sugar doesn’t just “taste good”… it lights up the brain’s reward center in a VERY similar way to addictive substances. 😳🧠

So let’s do a quick quiz…

👇 COUNT YOUR YES’S:

1️⃣ Are you feeling sluggish or tired throughout the day?
2️⃣ Do you think of sweets as a reward or a treat for good behavior?
3️⃣ Do you feel guilty after eating sweets?
4️⃣ Do you eat sweets even when you are not hungry?

If coffee leaves you with acid reflux, heartburn, bloating, nausea, or that burning throat feeling, you’ve probably been told:

👉 “Just stop drinking coffee.”

🚫 That’s not the fix. That’s a shortcut.

‼️ Most people don’t have a coffee problem…they have an acid & gut imbalance.

One thing I’ll never overthink with my kids: hydration matters. 💧⚽️

‼️Most “sports drinks” kids are handed are basically sugar water with food dyes and artificial junk — quick spikes, quick crashes. We learned that lesson early.

🥅So before Brayden hits the field, we keep it simple: minerals + water. That’s it.

💯Good hydration isn’t about neon colors or hype — it’s about supporting energy, endurance, and recovery without setting kids up for a crash halfway through the game.
