I am exposising some information about the Hawaii islands DOH Department of health and CDC Center of Disease Control. Hawaii island DOH and CDC has been aware of rat lungworm disease since the first two human cases happened in Hawaii in 1959-1960. The Hawaii DOH and CDC have negligently withheld information about Angiostrongylus from tourists-the ratlung parasite has been in the Hawaiian islands for years. However, they continue to ‘brush it under the rug,’ as if not wanting the public to know! They choose not to inform the public because of their fear of tourists finding out and not wanting to come to Hawaii as a vacation destination. Their fear of collecting less tourist dollars is causing people to get more sick than they would had proper treatment been given, and this is because ratlung is so unknown. This is CDC and DOH causing the misinformation. Because it is an emerging tropical disease there is not enough information that goes to the tempred medical world. In fact, no information slips the state and federal agencies lips; this is because of their fear of tourists catching wind of there being a deadly, food born parasite in Hawaii. Doctors in temperate climates therefore are oblivious of it so the wrong treatment is given. Hawaii island DOH/CVC can not work in this criminalistic fashion!
My mother is a colleague of Dr Susan Jarvi, director of the ratlung research program at the College of Pharmacies in Hilo on the Big island of Hawaii. For this reason, I get to hear about all of the new ratlung victims. The latest story she told me was the same as it always is. Because the Hawaii DOH and CDC do not put out public warnings about ratlung despite being aware of it, most doctors in the mainland have never heard of it because of being misinformed by not being informed at all! Who’s job is that?? Therefore, somebody comes back home to the mainland from a vacation in Hawaii and start having ratlung symptoms and they try to tell their doctor that “they think they have ratlung,” but because doctors don’t know what it is or how to treat it the case is misdiagnosed and the proper treatment isn’t given in a timely manner. “Now the worms have time to reach the brain!” Now the condition becomes neurological and the victims life is forever changed, potentially including shear devastation. This puts stress on the economy too by turning healthy, able working human beings into depressed nonfunctional people, who are unemployable. This is a drain on economy by turning functional working people into vegetables!! Something has to be done to shift this wrongdoing into a path of righteousness.
