I often remind parents and teachers that even with intensive evidence based intervention, the growth may seem incremental day by day, lesson by lesson. It is not always linear. And there are times when we all wonder if they will ever get there. It is a marathon, not a sprint. But boy, when we get there, it is GLORIOUS!

Please give a warm welcome to Ms. Anna Harris who is joining our advocacy team here at HRDC!

Anna brings a diverse background in special education, school leadership, and compliance, with experience supporting students, families, and school teams in a variety of roles within public education. She began her career as a special education teacher, where she built a strong foundation in individualized instruction, IEP development, and collaborative problem-solving to support student growth and achievement.

Over the course of her career, Anna has served in both instructional and leadership roles, including as a school administrator and district-level compliance coordinator. In these positions, she worked closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support students in accessing appropriate services aligned with federal and state special education laws. Her experience helps families better understand the special education process and feel more confident navigating conversations with school teams.

Anna is passionate about helping families feel informed and supported as they navigate their child’s education. She values equity and access and believes in a collaborative approach that brings families and schools together to support student success.
