Postpartum is sacred. Yes.
But sacred doesn’t look the same for every woman.
Some moms want quiet.
Some moms want their mama in the kitchen.
Some want laughter in the living room.
There is no gold star for isolation.
There is no prize for overexposing yourself either.
The only thing that matters is this:
What does she need?
Normalize asking women what they want instead of telling them what they should do. 💛

Newborn skin is wrinkled because they’ve been in fluid for 9 months 🤎
It usually smooths out within the first 1–2 weeks as they adjust to the outside world. Totally normal. Totally temporary.

Being a mom and a doula means I can educate you on postpartum recovery…
…but I still gotta run a short order kitchen at 6pm.
Made my favorite quick quesadillas like I planned. Feeling good. Feeling efficient.
And then —
“Ma… I don’t like that.”
So yes. I still made chicken strips for the tiny food critics who don’t do quesadillas. 🥴
Balanced meals? ✔️
Balanced hormones? Working on it.
Short order cook certification? Basically earned.

Yes, I advocate for moms.
But at 6pm?
I’m in here seasoning chicken and hitting a two-step for my babies like it’s a sold-out tour.
Doula by calling.
Kitchen performer by necessity.
Mama 24/7.

Love was definitely in the air this Valentine’s Day 💗
While everyone celebrated the babies, I made it my mission to pour into the mothers. As a postpartum doula, giving back at our community baby shower meant checking in, sharing resources, offering real support, and reminding moms that they matter too. Oh and they got to grab free self care items 🥰
Because the best Valentine’s gift isn’t just onesies and diapers… it’s support, education, and someone asking, “How are you doing?” 🤎
Giving back to my community will always be my love language. 💐✨
