Day Program, Friday, March 13th at 10 am (9:30 am social time)
From Piles to Projects with Lisa Youngers
This practical presentation will give quilters easy to implement tips on how to design a sewing space that supports creativity.
We'll explore simple, realistic strategies for managing fabric, scraps, tools, and unfinished projects to create a space that works for you.

Hello everyone, another year for PPQG. I am looking forward to an exciting year. At the night meeting this month we had a couple of new people join. We welcome new members. If you know nothing about quilting or are a new quilter or an experienced and want to know what we are all about please attend a meeting to see what we have to offer you. You can attend one meeting without being a member. We meet, the 2nd Friday at 9:30 am and the 2nd Tuesday at 6:30 pm at Hilton Baptist Church, Main Street, Newport News. Members can attend one meeting or both. This year we will have our Symposium, October 17 at Hilton Baptist Church. This Symposium is open to the public. We will have a lecture, various workshops and vendors. More information to come, including cost and information about the workshops.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Next meetings will be Day Meeting- January 9, 9:30 am, Night Meeting - January 13, 6:30 pm. I look forward to seeing all our current members at the meetings. If you are not a member of a quilt guild and want to know what we are about, if you have never quilted, are a beginner quilter or an experienced quilter consider checking us out, we welcome new members. We meet at Hilton Baptist Church, 101 Main St, Newport News.

Tuesday, November 11th from 7 pm to 9 pm, our speaker will be Ingrid Kross talking about the history of the sewing machine and Friday, November 14th, from 10 am to 12 pm will be Eleanor Levie. Both speakers are in person.

Join us tomorrow for our monthly day meeting. Doors open at 9:30, the meeting starts at 10 am BUT WAIT!!! This is a special ALL DAY event! We will be making baby size quilts to donate to local hospitals. Please bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. Kits will be provided. We will have the regular meeting and then settle in to sew until 3:00 pm!! You can only work on the baby quilts, please leave all of your personal projects, including handwork at home.

One of our members submitted 3 quilts at the Virginia State Fair this year and two of them won ribbons! Additionally, her husband submitted several woodworking quilt themed items and also won a ribbon. Congratulations to Natalie & Michael!

Please join Debra and Bonnie at St. George Church, located at 15446 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23608 EVERY Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm to help them make Honor Quilts. Honor Quilts is one of our charity/community outreach programs. The quilts are then donated to local veterans.
