🌸 What Is Hyperemesis Gravidarum? 🌸

Pregnancy nausea is common—but hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is not your average morning sickness. HG is a severe form of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy that can lead to dehydration, weight loss, and even hospitalization.

🚨 Key Signs:

Persistent, excessive vomiting 🤢

Inability to keep food or fluids down

Weight loss (>5% of pre-pregnancy weight)

Dehydration symptoms: dark urine, dizziness, dry mouth

💉 Treatment may include IV fluids, anti-nausea meds, and nutritional support. Unlike typical nausea, HG can last well beyond the first trimester and greatly affect quality of life.
