Dessert, but make it healthy. Our residents enjoyed waffle cones topped with fresh fruit, including strawberries, peaches and blackberries, and a dollop of low-sugar whipped topping. They also played a few rounds of Uno. It's all about balance!

Happy birthday to our August babies! We celebrated this month's birthdays with a performance by trumpeter Dr. Chad McGill, who has 22 years of military band experience and is a music educator. Together we congratulated Ms. Cora (101) and Mr. Nelson (91) on their milestones and enjoyed a beautiful cake contributed by Altmeyer Funeral Homes- Virginia.

Our residents had so much fun during our Hawaiian Beach Blast over the weekend. They enjoyed socializing with one another over their “happy hour” drinks and other refreshments. They played games including flamingo ring toss and went indoor fishing. They danced to beach music and took time to post for photos. And, of course, they loved their goodie bags!

Special thanks to Ms. Muriel, who assisted our activity director Bonnie in setting up the Tiki Hut, and to CNA Terry for hanging décor and George for stuffing the goodie bags. It takes a community to support individuals to live their best life and we’re thankful for each of you!
