🏆 Three Years Running: Walter Reed Post Acute Named One of America's Best!

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Walter Reed Post Acute center (formerly Walter Reed Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center) has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Nursing Homes for 2026!

This marks the third consecutive year the center has achieved this national honor. It is a testament to the dedication, skill, and compassion their team brings to Gloucester every single day.

In addition to this center-wide success, we also celebrate Administrator Bryant Hudgins, who was recently named the 2025 Nursing Facility Administrator of the Year by the Virginia Health Care Association - Virginia Center for Assisted Living.

Warming hearts and paws this year for the holiday season!

This year we are supporting our community, furry friends, and local shelters with a pet food drive! Every donated bag or can of pet food, as well as treats, will go towards animals in need.

Donations are now being accepted until December 19th. Please drop off all pet needs at VHS Consulting, located at 240 Nat Turner Blvd. Newport News, VA.

We were honored to join the inaugural Habitat for Humanity “Believe & Build: A Breakfast for Change” event on November 5, 2025. Stephanie Johnston, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Christine Slavin, Sales and Marketing Director, and our Arbors resident Cynthia Vaughn attended as guests of sponsor Robert Campbell.

This inspiring morning brought together local Habitat builders, realtors, and community leaders to support affordable housing and Habitat’s first-time homebuyer program.

The highlight was a powerful fireside chat with HGTV's Egypt Sherrod and Habitat CEO Shauntrice Williams, reinforcing the vital role affordable homes play in building thriving communities.
