Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center

Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center (PPCC) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization. We treat adults, adolescents, and children.

For more than 50 years, PPCC has served individuals, couples, and families by providing professional counseling and consultation in a faith context. The Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center (PPCC) is a nonprofit organization that offers professional counseling and consultation in a faith context. “Professional counseling and consultation” has to do with our professional, highly qualified, state licensed staff. “Faith context” has to do with our awareness of spiritual issues and the way that the faith of our clients is a potential resource for healing. We respect the beliefs of our clients and do not impose our own beliefs on those we serve. Trained to integrate the gifts of behavioral science and of faith, we care for people who are struggling with marriage or family tensions, anxiety, depression, spiritual distress, and workplace issues. We also work within the financial means of our clients. We hope to help people to be more at peace with themselves and with each other. In times of stress and in times of growth, feel free to call us.

As the year comes to a close, we celebrate the many lives transformed through your generosity—people like Jacob, who found hope and stability after months of struggle.
Yet many others in our community are still waiting for help. Without financial assistance, counseling would be out of reach for many who face high deductibles or no insurance coverage.

Your year-end gift ensures that no one has to walk through life’s hardest transitions alone. With your support, PPCC can continue offering compassionate care that heals minds, strengthens spirits, and renews hope.

Because of generous supporters like you, Jacob was able to meet regularly with a PPCC therapist, even during months of unemployment.

Through counseling, he learned to manage his anxiety, challenge negative thoughts, and rebuild his confidence. Slowly, his relationships improved—and his sense of purpose returned.

After six months, Jacob found a new job with benefits in a completely different field. It wasn’t just employment—it was a new beginning.

Your generosity makes stories like Jacob’s possible. Each gift helps our therapists guide people toward hope, healing, and renewed strength.

Thank you for caring!

If you weren’t able to join us at this year’s Annual Banquet—or if you’d like to experience it again—we invite you to watch a highlight from the evening featuring messages from Sen. Creigh Deeds and Former Sen. Monty Mason.

In this heartfelt conversation, both leaders share personal reflections on mental health, hope, and the importance of accessible counseling in our community. Their words remind us why the mission of PPCC matters and how deeply the need for compassionate care is felt across Virginia.

Senator Deeds and Former Senator Mason discuss the importance of PPCC's vital work towards wellness and mental health.

At the start of the year, Jacob lost his job. Without steady income or affordable health insurance, he and his wife struggled to provide for their two young children. Family, friends, and their church helped with meals and babysitting—but the emotional toll was heavy.

Jacob felt guilty for relying on others and anxious about what would come next. Depression set in, and restful nights became rare.
When his pastor referred him to PPCC, Jacob took a brave first step and called for an appointment. That call became the beginning of his healing journey.

This Giving Tuesday (and any day), you can help others like Jacob take that same courageous step. Your gift makes counseling accessible for people facing major life changes, offering them hope and guidance when they need it most.
Together, we can turn moments of struggle into stories of strength. Give today and help someone find hope!
