Try the “5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Exercise” when anxiety or stress starts to build.

Pause and notice:
5️⃣ things you can see
4️⃣ things you can touch
3️⃣ things you can hear

This technique helps bring your mind back to the present moment and calm the nervous system.

Therapy Tip Thursday 🧠

If everything feels like “overwhelmed,” your brain doesn’t know what to do with that.
Try getting specific.
Instead of:
“I’m stressed.”
Try:
“I’m anxious about that meeting.”
“I’m disappointed in how that went.”
“I’m mentally exhausted.”
When you name the emotion, you reduce its intensity.
Clarity creates calm.
