Melanie Endicott is, by far, the best qualified candidate for Hospital Commissioner. Having been a hospital commissioner myself, for 20 years, I have a keen sense of what it takes to govern in an ever-changing industry that is financially and intellectually challenging. Melanie has the education, the experience and the insights to "hit the ground running" as a commissioner.
Raised in North Pend Oreille County, Melanie followed her graduation from Selkirk High School with a BA degree in Health Information Management and MBA/Health Care Management masters degree. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years in health information management, focusing on the financial and administrative aspects of healthcare.
In addition, Melanie has served on numerous boards, including the Newport Hospital and Health Services Foundation Board for over five years. This experience has given her an in-depth understanding of how our local hospital and residential facilities can best serve our community.

To the editor,
I am writing this letter in support of Melanie Endicott for Commissioner Position 1 on our Newport Hospital and Health Services Board. I believe Melanie will bring fresh eyes and passion to help and guide our local healthcare system into the future. I have served in healthcare for over 30 years, and I know that we have to be forward- looking and nimble to navigate the inevitable changes and ever-present challenges in healthcare. Melanie has the knowledge and the vision to do everything it takes to protect our rural healthcare services and ensure our community members continue to receive the best care. Melanie has extensive background in healthcare reimbursement. She would bring ideas to the table to ensure we can provide the best care and capture the needed revenue to continue to offer cutting edge healthcare. Melanie has served on the hospital foundation and recognizes that one of our most valuable assets in our rural community is the healthcare providers and employees of Newport Hospital and Health Services.
We need to not only be able to retain our current team but be able to recruit additional providers to serve our community. Melanie will offer guidance and help steer our system in the right direction. Melanie has excellent communication and leadership skills which would bring additional cohesiveness and transparency to the board. I hope you will consider joining me in voting for Melanie Endicott.

Professional Experience
I have worked in healthcare for the past 22 years and am very knowledgeable about healthcare finance and the rapidly changing healthcare environment. I am currently employed at the American Health Information Management Association where I provide education to healthcare professionals around the globe. I am also an adjunct professor at Stephens College, where I teach Healthcare Reimbursement.

Education
I have a bachelor's degree from Carroll College and am a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and have a Master's in Business Administration & Healthcare Management (MBA/HCM) from the University of Phoenix.
