Rite Aid has closed several locations across Delaware due to bankruptcy, which may impact your access to prescriptions. Delaware Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro has issued new requirements to help protect patients and ensure you get the medications you need, without delay.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰:

▪ Patients: If you use Rite Aid, please transfer your prescriptions to another local pharmacy ASAP. Contact your provider or use your patient portal for help!

▪ Providers: Reach out to patients who may be affected and assist them with prescription transfers.

▪ Insurers & PBMs: Must cover emergency refills, make transfers easier, and communicate clearly with patients. No extra hurdles—just support.

The Delaware Board of Pharmacy has authorized emergency prescription refills and is working to make sure no one goes without their medications. Special support hotlines and web portals are available to help you navigate this change.
