🇺🇸 Rural Medical Services was honored to sponsor the Veterans Breakfast this morning in partnership with “Veterans in Focus” and “Operation Therapy” at West End Baptist Church.

It was truly a blessing to bless those who have so selflessly served our country and this community. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our veterans and to stand alongside organizations making a real difference.

STAY SAFE IN EXTREME HEAT! 🌡️

Rural areas aren’t immune to rising temperatures—and extreme heat can be dangerous if you’re not prepared. Here are simple but important tips to help you and your loved ones stay cool and safe:

✅ Drink water regularly – Don’t wait until you’re thirsty. Stay hydrated, especially if you’re working outdoors.
✅ Avoid peak heat hours (10 AM – 4 PM) – Stay indoors or in the shade when possible.
✅ Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing – And don’t forget a wide-brimmed hat if you’re outside.
✅ Check on neighbors – Especially the elderly, young children, and those with medical conditions.
✅ Never leave people or pets in vehicles – Even for a minute. The temperature can rise dangerously fast.
✅ Know the signs of heat illness – Dizziness, nausea, headache, or confusion? Cool off and seek medical help if needed.

We had an amazing time helping our young patients get ready for the upcoming school season with Well Child Checks at all SIX of our locations: Newport, Chestnut Hill, Cosby, Parrottsville, Grassy Fork, and Jefferson City!

After seeing their providers, the kiddos enjoyed a day full of fun — face painting, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, games, prizes, and time spent with our awesome Jr. Volunteers! 🧡

And at our Dental Clinic, we even had a special visit from the Tooth Fairy herself! 🦷✨

Thank you to all the families and local businesses who joined us — we had a blast and can’t wait to do it again in July! Stay tuned! 💫

This Memorial Day, we pause in solemn remembrance of the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our freedom. In our quiet corners of rural America, where community runs deep and faith sustains us, we feel the weight of their sacrifice with profound gratitude.

As a Healthcare Center, we see daily the toll of service—on bodies, minds, and families. And on days like today, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the families who gave everything. Your loved ones are not forgotten.

We are honored that Rural Medical Services was able to attend the Law Enforcement Memorial Service at the Cocke County Courthouse alongside the Cocke County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff C.J. Ball, former Knox County Sheriff Tim Hutchinson, and other distinguished guests and political leaders.

It was a beautiful and moving service, reminding us of the sacrifice and dedication of those who serve. We offer our heartfelt prayers for blessings and a hedge of protection over the brave men and women who safeguard our community each day. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
