After 34 years of continuous service to this community, our beloved founding midwife Chris Yentes is retiring. Her vision for the Holly No.7 Birth Center will continue with Aura Moore and Jenna Payne as well as the addition of a new midwife to the team, Anna McGuire! Anna was also trained by Chris, previously worked on staff at the birth center, and even had her very own birth unfold there last month!
“I believe that I have found the most wonderful work in the world being able to provide midwifery care. As a midwife, it is my privilege to use my head, my hands and my heart in order to serve you and your family through the transformational life event that is pregnancy and birth! This work is deeply humbling and I am constantly learning. I completed the majority of my training at Holly No.7 under Chris's guidance, and after three years of solo practice, I am so grateful to be returning to my roots and serving my community alongside Jenna and Aura and our excellent team of students and staff. I have birthed 5 babies myself, the first four at home, but most recently I experienced birth at the birth center and care from my colleagues! I am thankful to have experienced many different facets of this care that we give, as a client and as a midwife. I couldn't show up as a midwife the way that I am able to, if not for my amazing husband Caleb who is the primary parent and homeschool teacher in our home.” -Anna
Over the next few weeks, Anna will begin to introduce herself to clients for their prenatal appointments as Chris begins to transition out of our clinical rotation. Thank-you so much for your best wishes, and please continue to drop your love in the comments!
