SCAM ALERT!!!
We had a client that let us know she received a scam call from someone stating that they were from the Credit Bureau. They said that her bank was charging her too much interest and that they wanted to give her a lower rate. They had her credit card number, her date of birth and her social security number. What they wanted from her was the expiration date and the security code on the back of the card.

Our client felt this was a scam and hung up and he called back. She contacted her bank and the bank told her that they are looking for the security code and expiration date.

Please do not give out your information to anyone! Please help spread the word about this SCAM.

🔸 When: Open from 4pm on 1/14/24 until power is restored.
🔸 Where: Newport Recreation Center, 225 SE Avery St, Newport.
🔸 Who: Community members in general, older adults, limited space available for cats and dogs accompanied by community members.
🔸 More information: Please call 541-270-1005. Some transportation is available if you are not able to get to the shelter.
🔸 Showers are available, please bring a towel. You may also want a pillow for your cot or extra blankets.
