Applications are now open for the 2026 Vermont Community Sunscreen Dispenser Program!
Through a partnership between VTAAC, UVM Cancer Center, Impact Melanoma, and Dartmouth Cancer Center, up to fifteen (15) community sites across Vermont will receive a FREE automated sunscreen dispenser and starter supply of sunscreen to help promote sun safety.
Community partners will also help expend prevention efforts by sharing sun safety messaging and encouraging protective habits among visitors, staff, and volunteers.
Apply by April 17 at 5pm to be considered.

Did you know that the Health Department has a volunteer group called the Medical Reserve Corps or MRC? The MRC is a group of medical and non-medical volunteers that help the Health Department during public health emergencies. During non-emergencies, the MRC may be found giving preparedness presentations or at community events. Are you interested in more information? Reach out to Becky at Rebecca.petelle@vermont.gov.

Our volunteer, Laural Ruggles (pictured here), had this to say about the MRC: "MRC volunteers were essential during the pandemic and the flooding in Vermont. I was fortunate to be trained in emergency management in my job. When I retired, MRC was the perfect way to continue to use that training in service to the community during disasters and emergency events."
