๐Ÿ‘‰ Connie Schmidt, RN, works in Ambulatory Infusion at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. On her own, Connie purchased a beautifully decorated cake for a chemotherapy patient who was planning a simple wedding. That way, the soon-to-be married couple could have a traditional cake to celebrate. A co-worker wrote in the nomination: "I wanted Connie to know how much these acts of kindness enhance the experience of working here.โ€ โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Jennifer Cook manages three Samaritan clinics in Depoe Bay, Newport and Waldport. She was recognized for her patience, knowledge, teamwork and for always putting the patient first. She is usually the one to preside over Rising Star celebrations and was truly surprised and happy to find out that she was this month's recipient. โค๏ธ

Pacific Communities Health District Foundation and Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital patients recently benefited from three incredible third-party fundraisers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these generous supporters and everyone who participated in their events.

๐Ÿ’› Tina Fritz and her employer, Pacific West Ambulance, donated $1,540 to our Women's Cancer Fund. With cancer being prevalent in her family, Tina is motivated to lead the company's annual t-shirt sale to support this cause.

๐Ÿ’› Advanced Oncology Nurse Karen Dubois, who has a nurturing spirit for both people and plants, hosted a successful plant sale. She met her first-year goal of raising $1,000 for our CAN Cancer Fund.

๐Ÿ’› The Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital Auxiliary leveraged an exquisite quilt donated anonymously. By displaying it in the gift shop, they raised an impressive $2,160 for our Patient Support Fund.

We are immensely grateful for these contributions, which significantly enhance our ability to support our most financially vulnerable patients with needs like home medical equipment, nutrition, transportation and so much more.

Congrats to Adriana Sanchez, Medical Assistant in Orthopedics, for being named GSRMC Clinicsโ€™ July Rising Star Employee of the Month! ๐ŸŽ‰

Adriana was nominated three times for her compassion, teamwork, and dedication โ€” from personally transporting a trauma patient to stepping up for the X-ray team when they were short-staffed.

Since joining Samaritan in 2022, sheโ€™s grown from front office staff to a certified medical assistant through our apprenticeship program. Patients and coworkers alike appreciate her warm, family-like care.

Outside of work, Adriana enjoys the outdoors with her dog Hennessy and spending time with loved ones. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ•๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you, Adriana, for going above and beyond!
