This time of year comes with illness, and I work very hard to ensure each client comes into a clean and sanitized treatment space. Since this profession is hands on, we both can be vulnerable to illness. Catching a bug for me can mean an unexpected absence and inability to serve my clients. I would ask that if you are feeling under the weather to please cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance and get yourself well before rescheduling. I appreciate everyone’s consideration as I navigate this, and I promise to continue doing my part to ensure everyone is protected.

A client yesterday had a flood of emotion during a session, and promptly apologized for “blubbering,” as she put it.

I reassured her that massage sometimes reminds us of things or unlocks things that get pent up in the body and that it is perfectly normal. It can be a release for some people to get a massage, and sometimes it can bring up difficult things for people.

However unpleasant, It’s TOTALLY normal. Don’t beat yourself up for being human. We all need to feel sometimes. It’s part of the journey.
