On May 14th, CarpeVITA was proud to advocate for the future of home care at Legislative Hall as Governor Matt Meyer signed SB67 into law, allowing background checks to remain valid for one full year. This is a huge step forward for both caregivers and home care agencies across Delaware, helping streamline the hiring process while continuing to protect the individuals we serve.
Robyn met with Rep. Ronald E. Gray, Senator Ray Seigfried, and Rep. Melanie Ross Levin alongside Adrienne Carr RN, from Aveanna Health Care to discuss the importance of strengthening home care services and supporting the caregiving workforce.
Briana also spent the day advocating for our industry, meeting with Senator Stephanie Hansen’s legal assistant and Senator Spiros Mantzavinos. Joining her team were Keisha Righter from Always Best Care, Tykisha Church-Brown from Bayada Home Health Care, and Rachel Ali- Permel from Bayada Home Health Care. Together, they shared the growing needs within home care and the importance of supporting caregivers throughout our communities.
We are grateful for the opportunity to have our voices heard and to stand alongside so many passionate professionals advocating for better care, stronger resources, and continued support for Delaware seniors and families. The future of home care continues to move forward because of collaboration, advocacy, and dedication. 🧡🩵
