For those not aware…our Agency has an unannounced State of Vermont survey every three years for our home care program and separately for our Hospice program. The surveyors come to the Agency to review for our state licensure and for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid federal designation.
During surveys, numerous patient charts are reviewed, surveyors shadow clinicians in the field, policies, procedures and quality measures are analyzed.
In the past 12 years, that I have been with the Agency, each survey has resulted in a few non patient related deficiencies, corrected as needed.
This year, however, our staff has excelled in all they do and we had no deficiencies…something we should be truly proud of.
