We finished up our 4-evening Wilderness First Aid certification class for the Troop 127 Northern Tier canoe adventure crew this past Wednesday. It was a lot of fun and the participants learned a lot.

Not a single PowerPoint was used. The hands-on training was very popular!

Our new Wilderness First Aid class for the Troop 127 Northern Tier crew is working well. The format is primarily hands-on outdoor First Aid training.

In our 2nd session last evening we covered identifying and treating trauma injuries on the trail.

Wilderness First Aid is a 16-hour class. We have broken it up into 4 evening sessions which is easier on brains and behinds.

We’re looking forward to teaching our next Wilderness First Aid class for the Troop 127 Northern Tier adventure crew.

This class is a bit different…we are teaching it over the course of four Wednesday evenings. Parts of it will be taught in the Troop Room and part of it on the trail.

Had a great afternoon with our Basic First Aid/Stop the Bleed/CPR/AED class for Harvey County Farm Bureau.

Here we are splinting a humerus and applying a sling and swath.

I wish I had the presence of mind in class to take more photos.
