Heidi’s Helpers is having a fundraiser event this Saturday (flyer attached). This event will be at the American Legion Post 268 in Sedgwick Kansas this Saturday (20th) beginning @ 5pm (BBQ), raffle @ 7pm & Karaoke @ 8pm (weather permitting). For those that don’t know about Heidi’s Helpers, every year around Christmas, Heidi's Christmas Helpers provides Christmas gifts to individuals (adults and/or minors) with IDD who are in need of gifts for the holidays. This program was started and run by Kathy Inlow with assistance from our own Nancy Plenert - they are both amazing!

A six-week parenting class utilizing the Parenting the Love & Logic Way curriculum will begin next week!

If you'd like to learn how to avoid power struggles and arguments, how to stay calm, how to set enforceable limits, how to empower your kids, and how to raise kids who are family team members, you need this course!

There are four convenient start times:
October 11, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Prairie View-Newton • October 11, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Prairie View-Newton • October 14, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Prairie View-Newton • October 15, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Zoom

The course is free to all parents with a client on the SED Waiver, and is open to the community. There is a small charge for those not on the Waiver. A free book is included with registration.

Weekly gift card drawings will take place, and perfect attendance awards will be given.
