Ronni had the first lab check since stopping chemo on Monday. ANC (immunity white blood cells) is in the low normal range! Platelets (blood clotting white blood cells) are in the low normal range! Hemoglobin (oxygen carrying red blood cells) are almost in the low normal range.
These are great results! Ronni has been doing amazing at college, making new relationships, attending classes, being involved, and feeling pretty good the whole time. I am so very proud of them!

What an amazing day!
We moved Ronni into their dorm room at Butler Community College this morning. Then we headed to Wesley Children's Hospital for their last in therapy appointment! Labs were drawn for the first time without the assistance of a port in over 2 years! Everything looks as expected and so Ronni took their last oral chemotherapy pill!! A party broke out in their room with singing and Ronni rang the bell!! We had a family meal at China Inn back in Newton and then we dropped Ronni off back in El Dorado.
We are grateful for everyone's support as Ronni was going through treatment. We have felt the love and prayers. If you woyl like to send anything to Ronni in college let me know and I'll get you the address.

Ronni just took their last weekly peak chemotherapy drug! Methotrexate is done!!
2 more days of treatment!

Thank you for your prayers.
Everything went well this morning. Ronni's port is out! 🥳
Ronni only has 3 more weeks of treatment!! 5 days of steriods, a daily oral chemotherapy, and their once a week oral chemo. We are so grateful to be at this place!!

Heading to Wesley for Ronni's last Vincristine infusion, last lumbar puncture and interthecal chemotherapy, and surgery to remove their port. Please send prayers that all procedures go well.

Ronni had a monthly appointment this past Tuesday. Blood work is in the appropriate range for the oral chemo that Ronni continues to take daily, so no changes this month.
We had a surgery consultation to discuss Ronni's port removal in July. The port will be utilized that morning for their last chemotherapy infusion and then Ronni will go into surgery to have it removed.
The end of chemo is fast approaching and we are grateful for Ronni's medical team. It has been a long hard road, but Ronni has persevered.
Thank you for your continued support.

LET'S CELEBRATE!
Two years ago after the first month of treatment, the doctors informed us that it had done what it was supposed to do and Ronni was in remission!!
The last two years have not been easy, but Ronni is AMAZING! This Saturday they graduate from high school with many honors and 9 college credits already complete.
We would love for you to join in our celebration! You can either send cards to the house (402 NE 60th, Newton, KS 67114) or stop by Ronni's Grad Party on Sunday May 19th between noon and 3pm.

Today is day 1 of the next 3 month cycle. This means it Ronni got sedated, had a lumbar puncture, removed fluid to test, and chemotherapy drug was injected into their spine. Ronni also got an infusion of a different chemotherapy drug into their port. Ronni will start a 5 day high-dose steroid regimen and oral chemo drugs were adjusted based on their lab results. These days and the next several are hard. Historically, they feel the effect of sedation for about 36 hours and most times a spinal headache sets in after 48 hours. Ronni is feeling okay as of now.
Ronni's last semester of high school had been busy. I have included pictures for you. Thank you to all of Ronni's supporters. We appreciate you!

Ronni had treatment Tuesday 2/6. This was day 1 of the next 3 month cycle.
It included Ronni getting sedated, having a lumbar puncture, removing fluid to test, and injecting chemotherapy drug into their spine. As well as getting an infusion of a different chemotherapy drug into their port and their monthly anti-infection infusion. Ronni started a 5 day high-dose steroid regimen.
Ronni felt off (we usually blame it on sedation and the emotional response of the reminder that they are going through treatment) until Thursday midday. Usually that is when a spinal headache kicks in and Ronni has to lay horizontal for the next several days. We've tried to mitigate these headaches many ways but haven't been successful. This time we upped hydration with Body Armor and caffeine with Alani. This combination seens to have helped!
Thank you for your support.

Lab check and monthly anti-infection was last Tuesday. Bloodwork is within the limits the medical team wants, so only a sight increase in oral chemo meds.
Ronni is doing okay. Treatment always throws them off emotionally but they are bouncing back and doing life!
This year Ronni turns 18, graduates high school, will have completed 9 college credits, will leave home to attend college, treatment will end, and then post care will start. Please keep Ronni in your prayers as they continue to navigate all of this. If you see them, or have them on social media, reach out and say hi. They have often times felt isolated in the last 2 years. Thank you.

Ronni had treatment Tuesday. Everything went pretty well, but today they have once again developed a headache that kept them home from school today. Pray for Ronni to feel better so they don't miss out on all that is going on this weekend. Thank you.
