After years of dissatisfaction with the clinical decision support resources currently available, Dr. Sunil Nihalani and his company, Inferscience, determined to develop a better solution. He wondered, what if there was a tool that could read the specific data about his patients in the EMR and offer real-time advice about their unique condition that was backed by the most current clinical research? A solution that went beyond just identifying articles about a condition, giving overall population health guidance, or asking him to decide which article or recommendation to read to get to a generalized answer? Inferscience is pleased to announce that its Clinical Decision Support system, Infera, is now available to users of Allscripts Touchworks and Professional EHR. Infera leverages current and historical patient data in the EHR and references evidence-based clinical rules to build a care recommendation that is specifically tailored to a patient’s unique condition.
