🚨 ACH Fraud is one of the fastest-growing threats to businesses right now.

At our Wednesday 7 a.m. BNI meeting, we heard from Jed Murphy, Branch Manager at the Newtonville branch of Rockland Trust, who spoke about the increasing risks of financial fraud and what businesses should be watching for.

One area Jed highlighted was ACH fraud—which is becoming more common as criminals look for ways to access bank accounts and move money electronically.

Unlike a credit card transaction, ACH withdrawals can sometimes happen without immediate detection, especially if someone gains access to account numbers or login credentials. Fraudsters may attempt unauthorized debits, create fake vendor payments, or compromise online banking access.

Some key prevention tips Jed shared:
🔹 Regularly monitor business bank accounts for unfamiliar ACH activity.
🔹 Set up alerts and transaction controls with your bank.
🔹 Use dual authorization for payments when possible.
🔹 Never send banking information through unsecured email.

The biggest takeaway: Fraud prevention isn’t just the bank’s job—it’s a partnership between businesses and their financial institutions.

If you’d like to learn more about how to protect your accounts or business from fraud risks like ACH scams, reach out to Jed directly:
