We received the Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure grant again this year, so we are able to continue our monthly Cancer Support meetings! We have lots of great things in store!

The Jasper County Health Department behavioral health division is currently hiring. We provide outpatient mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, DUI and Risk Education services, drug court services and have consulting psychiatric services for psychotropic medication needs of our clients. At Jasper County Health Department, our employees have an opportunity to make a difference every day by helping people with mental health and substance use issues gain control of their lives. If you have a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a commitment to helping people, JCHD is for you. Benefits for full time employees include but are not limited to: 23 paid days off in the first year, employer contribution to IMRF retirement with option for voluntary additional contribution, and health and life insurance options.

We have the following positions available.

Therapist/Counselor: We are hiring in our Richland location. Bachelor’s degree in human services field required, Master’s degree preferred. Starting rate of pay for this position is $21.90 with a bachelor’s degree, but increases based on degree and licensure. Annual increases are given as budget allows . Please specify when applying if you have a preference for treating MH, SUD, or both.

Job duties include:
• Assessing consumers, establishing diagnoses, developing treatment plans collaboratively with consumers by defining goals, specific outcomes and time-frames for treatment.
• Providing counseling and clinical services to consumers
• Providing crisis intervention to stabilize consumer's condition by utilizing short-term crisis intervention techniques and/or referral to other support services.
• Plans, develops, and facilitates group programs to be used with consumers.

Receptionist Position: We are currently accepting applications for a part time receptionist position in our Jasper County Health Department-Behavioral Health Richland office, in Olney, IL. Position needed is around 10-15 hours a week. Starting rate of pay for this position is $17.09 with annual increases as budget allows. Applicants should have computer knowledge and excellent communication, organization and time management skills.

It is time for our Annual Health Fair once again! Please join us on Wednesday May 28th from 10-1 at the West End Reception and Event Center, in Newton, IL.

There will be many vendors with great information and screenings. ARCH Helicopter is to land around 10 (weather permitting) for the kids to check out! Also, we will be selling items for lunch with all monies going to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund.
