Please join us in congratulating Yahaira, CNA, who received the BEE Award earlier this week!
Yahaira was simply told to come to the Medical Unit at a certain time, with absolutely no idea she was the person of the hour. Once the award was presented and the initial shock wore off, the sweet tears started flowing and the unit filled with so much love.
One by one, her coworkers hugged her. Seeing the steady stream of peers approaching her to share a moment and a hug made it beautifully obvious just how deeply loved and respected she is by her NMC Health family.
That deep care she shares with her teammates is the exact same care she gives to her patients. Yahaira was nominated by a grateful family member who shared just how much her presence meant during a difficult stay:
"She consistently went above and beyond to make sure my mom was not only cared for medically, but also comforted as a person... What stood out most was how often she checked on her throughout the night, never making us feel like we were alone or forgotten. Her presence brought reassurance during a time filled with uncertainty. Yahaira’s compassion, attentiveness, and genuine care had a powerful impact on our experience at NMC Health, and I will always be grateful for the comfort she provided to my mom and our family."
