Meet Lavender, a loyal, loving Doberman who thrives at the heart of her busy household. With four daughters to watch over, Lavender proudly embraces her role as the family’s “velcro dog,” sticking close through homework sessions, soccer practices, and spontaneous living room dance parties.

Lavender reminds us just how deeply pets enrich our lives, offering comfort, protection, and unconditional love through every season of life.

Carolina Caring is proud to be one of only nine nonprofit hospice providers in North Carolina partnering with Pet Peace of Mind, a program that helps keep patients and their beloved pets together at the end of life.

Your support of Pet Peace of Mind helps cover veterinary care, food, grooming, boarding, and basic in-home pet care for patients who can no longer physically or financially care for their pets.

The Nurse Navigator is a full-time role that will foster relationships with healthcare providers to ensure that patients can access quality, coordinated care provided by Carolina Caring.

Qualified applicants will hold 1-3 years of professional clinical experience (Hospice or Home Health Care preferred).

In case you missed it: "Walk to End Alzheimer's" was a blast!

Carolina Caring staff came together in Catawba, Gaston, & Rowan-Cabarrus counties to "walk the walk" in support of Alzheimer's Association and disease prevention.

Special thank-you to Carolina Caring employees Barbie, HR/Payroll Coordinator, and Marsha, Amanda, & Priss, Community Engagement & Outreach teams, for leading staff in these walks.

Carolina Caring is offering new and interested volunteers a free training session, where they will learn about:

▪️Volunteer Opportunities
▪️Special Volunteer Programs

Volunteers do not provide hands-on care, but they can contribute to activities that offer practical and emotional support to those receiving hospice care.

Join us on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 from 9:00am-2:00pm at Carolina Caring's office on 2240 Remount Road, Gastonia, NC. Lunch will be provided on the day of the training.

This year, our “Caring for Our Community” initiative has fostered compassion, connection, and purpose beyond the bedside. It reflects our commitment to whole-person care, ensuring that patients and families can maintain or improve their quality of life.

In addition to sharing resources and service lines at this year's Concrete Rose Breast Cancer Awareness Gala, Amanda has connected breast cancer organizations across the region as they work together in support of their patients' unique cancer journeys.
