NextHome Sober Communities

NextHome Sober Communities A communal style sober community that is safe, comfortable, and full of helpful amenities. It does not substitute one addiction for another.

ABOUT US
We are so much more than a sober living community and comfortable place to live. We specialize in providing hope and direction to men struggling with substance use disorder. Our unique personalized approach allows our residents the best possible opportunity for sustainable long term recovery. SUPPORT
NextHome has built and continues to build on a network of support for our residents. Numerous business owners, industry and community leaders invest time, energy, and resources in our residents as master class specialists in many areas of personalized development. The opportunity for growth and success provided by this network gives direction, confidence, and opportunities to our residents that greatly improve their potential for long term sobriety. MEDICATION ASSISTANCE
Unlike many other sober living communities, NextHome not only allows for Medication Assisted Recovery, we see the value in it. Research has shown that for many, medication improves social functioning and retention to treatment. It restores balance to the brain, eliminates cravings, increases the ability to maintain employment and can be taken safely for months, years or even a lifetime. Simply put, medication assisted treatment is just another tool that allows addicts to overcome addiction and live a self-directed life, and though whenever promote the medication itself, we have seen it work in countless lives and will support any of our residents that make the decision to take advantage of it. CONNECTION
One of the most joyful aspects of NextHome is the brotherhood that exists among residents. Residents enter into a community of men all working together to conquer their addictions. For many, having the opportunity to connect and build relationships with other men who understand the complex and harrowing nature of addiction can be life changing. Community, Structure, accountability, and personal responsibility are the foundations of NextHome. DONT WAIT,
Take the next step
Unfortunately, there is no cookie cutter solution to overcoming addiction. That is why we feel it is imperative to get to know our residents so that we can provide personalized direction. If you or someone you love struggle with substance abuse, let us help you to succeed!

"If a friend ever opens up to you about domestic violence — stop talking at them and start listening.
They don’t need judgment, advice, or stories about what you’d do.
They need safety, patience, and someone who believes them.
Let’s stop silencing survivors with our opinions. Let’s listen with compassion."

Here's a great way to give back to your community!

🎄 Our annual First Responder Holiday Helpers drive is happening now! Emergency response agencies in Harvey County have joined together with the goal of assisting 400 local families this holiday season.

🥫 This tradition is only successful because of our generous community. Your financial contributions make it possible. With $86, we can provide two weeks of food for a family.

📌 If you'd like to help us reach our goal, you can bring a financial donation by the Sheriff's Office or Newton Police Department. You can also mail it. Checks can be made payable to First Responder Holiday Helpers.

💙 Thank you for your support!

💜 Thoughtful Thursday 💜
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month — a time to listen, learn, and stand beside survivors.

Stop asking why she doesn’t leave.
Start asking how we can make it safe for her to go.

Leaving an abusive relationship is never simple — it’s often dangerous, isolating, and tied to deep emotional, financial, and safety challenges. What survivors need most is understanding, support, and resources, not judgment.

💬 Listen without blame.
🤝 Offer support without conditions.
💜 Believe survivors.

If you or someone you know needs help, reach out to Safehope 24/7 at 316-283-0350 or 800-487-0510

Together, we can break the silence and build safety.

Know a family that could use some help with presents this holiday season? We'd like to give back to a few families through our Blue Christmas program.

Through Blue Christmas, our deputies and staff donate their own funds to purchase, wrap and deliver presents to children as a way to give back. Community members can nominate a family they'd like to have considered for the program through Nov. 14. Space is limited!

To nominate a family, please provide basic contact information for the recipient family so we can get in touch with them, such as a name, phone number and address of a parent, as well as a short description why that family is a good candidate.

You can nominate a family by contacting Sgt. Austin Gronau:

🎄 Come by the Sheriff's Office, 120 E. Seventh St.
🎄 Call us at 316-284-6960
🎄 Email agronau@harveycounty.gov.

FYI, our campaign focuses on families in smaller communities and rural Harvey County. Our friends in the Newton Police Department offer a similar program for Newton residents!
