One of the things I appreciate about the Senior Living Education Series is getting to bring together people who see these situations from very different perspectives.

For our upcoming seminar, “What Every Senior Should Know About Legal Planning,” one of our guest speakers will be Aimee Spores, Director of Hospice & Palliative Care at WesleyLife Hospice and Palliative Care.

Aimee has spent more than 17 years walking alongside older adults and families during some of the most difficult and emotional seasons of life.

While attorneys and financial professionals often explain what documents people should have in place, Aimee sees what happens in real life when those conversations either happen ahead of time or get avoided for too long.

Her experience gives families a clearer understanding of how legal planning directly affects medical decisions, caregiving situations, communication between family members, and the ability to carry out someone’s wishes during emotional moments.

She regularly works alongside people during seasons where having clear direction and preparation in place can bring a greater sense of peace, confidence, and support to everyone involved.

That perspective brings an important layer to this conversation, and I am very thankful she is willing to share her experience with our community.
