When you work in funeral service, you get the opportunity to meet some incredible people. William Savell, Arthur Newman and John Musgrove at Newton County Funeral Home had the opportunity to treat this group of folks to lunch at the Country Platter in Newton.

Here they are in their street clothes but earlier, this wonderful Lieutenant and his crew from Ft. Polk of the United States Army came as a full funeral honor guard for a gentleman that served 38 years in the military. They served as pallbearers, played taps, folded and presented the burial flag and fired a 7 member, 21 gun salute in his honor.

It was such a blessing to get to visit with them all at lunch, make connections and learn more about their lives while they enjoyed a good, home-cooked style, southern meal. God bless The United States Army and Military.
