Did you know your immune cells actually slow down when your body temperature drops? ❄️🦠

That’s one of the big reasons colds feel worse—and spread faster—during the winter months.

When you're exposed to cold air, especially through your nose and airways, your body’s temperature drops slightly. This small shift can reduce the efficiency of immune cells responsible for detecting and fighting viruses. At the same time, viruses that cause the common cold thrive in cooler conditions.

A chilly environment = a less active immune response + stronger viruses.
No wonder winter colds feel like they hit harder.

But the good news: you can still keep your immune system strong all season long.

Did you know that about 70% of your immune system lives in your gut? 🦠

Your gut isn’t just for digestion—it’s a key player in protecting your whole body. The gut lining is packed with immune cells that identify and fight off harmful invaders, while your gut microbiome (the trillions of bacteria living inside you) helps train your immune system to respond appropriately.

When your gut is balanced, your immune system is more resilient. When it’s out of balance—due to stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, or chronic inflammation—you may experience more than just digestive discomfort. This imbalance can contribute to fatigue, frequent infections, skin issues, and even worsen inflammation elsewhere in the body.
