Senior TLC – Hickory Gives Back! ✏️📚

Our participants were all smiles as they joined together with United Way for a Back-to-School Drive to support students in Catawba County! 🎒✨

They helped pack a large number of individual bags filled with supplies that will make a big difference for children starting the school year. Participants loved being able to give back and to their community, and our staff joined in by donating items from the supply list. 💙

We’re wishing every student a bright and successful school year ahead! 🌟

🌸🐦 Our participants told us how much they love relaxing outside at home, sitting on their porch, and watching the birds. So, we decided to make a special birdhouse craft!

They put their crafty skills to work building wooden birdhouses, then added their own personal touch with bright, beautiful paint to attract a variety of feathered friends.

The smiles said it all—they were so proud of their creations and couldn’t wait to take them home and hang them up! 💛✨

During this Summer season, participants have voiced that they miss being able to go to the beach or collect seashells, so the RT department brought a little bit of the beach to them! 🏖☀️

Participants were able to fill these sensory tubes with mini seashells, sand and finished it off with blue-colored water as if it was all collected straight from the ocean. They loved seeing them complete and watching everything move around to provide a soothing and relaxing feeling.

🦜🌟 Feathers, Fun & Big Smiles at Senior TLC - Hickory! 🌟🦜

Our participants had an amazing time with the KiKi’s Legacy Bird Show! 🐦 Beautiful parrots showed off their colors and wowed everyone with fun tricks and plenty of personality.

From laughter to amazement, the room was full of joy as participants and staff watched these talented birds perform up close.

It’s moments like these that make our Social Center feel so special. We love bringing in unique programs that connect our participants to the community and turn each day into something meaningful and fun. 💛
