This weekend marks the end of tryouts, and for many young players and their families, the beginning of some tough decisions.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had some real and heartfelt conversations with players and parents navigating these choices.

Deep South Volleyball Club is the premiere club in the wiregrass area. It was founded in the 1990s by two great volleyball minds, and has continued to grow and flourish from 1 team borrowing high school gyms into a 15+ team club with a 4 court facility dedicated to practices, tournaments, events, and group as well as private lessons for the youth of the Wiregrass area.

With this groundbreaking growth comes overhead, costs, and growing pains; but we have gracefully navigated those and continue to offer the most “Well Rounded” volleyball program to our athletes. We not only focus on volleyball skills and agility excellence; but also on physical and mental health and human growth of your children in their most formidable teenage years.

We are faith based, player centered, hard working members of our community who have dedicated our adult lives to the growth of volleyball in our area, and we are proud to continue to do that with your children.

There are other options, and we know that. Those other options may provide volleyball skills training and competition, but they have not yet rooted in our area with facilities, staff, or groundwork to grow this sport as we have.

We have prayed for you, your children, and the season we are soon embarking on. We pray that you will come to us with any questions, concerns, or hardships you might feel stand in the way of playing with us. DSVC has always made a way for any player to play the game we love, no matter what obstacles they may face;and we will never stop working to get every child on a court who wants to be there.

We are so proud of our THREE representatives today’s AHSAA North South All-Star Game. 17 National’s Kryslin Martin (Rehobeth HS) and Cara Rushing (Pile Lib) were both selected to play for the South All-Star team, and our DSVC Director and 17 National Coach, Janie Wiggins (LBW) was inducted into the AHSVBCA Hall Of Fame for the 2025 class.

Our club has certainly represented well, and we are so proud of all of you ladies!
