Atlantic Health's Newton Medical Center has officially opened its newly renovated maternity unit with a ribbon cutting, completing a project designed to improve comfort and care for mothers and babies in Sussex and Warren Counties. 🤱

🏥The upgraded unit features 17 private maternity suites, complete with sleeping couches, quiet workspaces, lounge chairs, and more — all designed to better support families, visitors, and partners.

Supported by the Newton Medical Center Foundation as part of a broader $3.5 million investment, the renovation marks a significant milestone in the hospital's ongoing efforts to enhance patient experience and clinical excellence. The maternity unit renovation marks the final phase of the Foundation’s Your Care, Our Future campaign, which funded three key facility projects, also including the renovation and redesign of the Behavioral Health Patient Unit in the Emergency Department and a newly designed and enhanced Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Atlantic Health System's Hackettstown and Newton Medical Centers thank our incredible community partner, Hackettstown-based Mars, Incorporated, for their generous donation of multiple cases of M&M’s Peanut Chocolate Candies in honor of Nurses’ Week at both hospitals! Mars Wrigley Site Director Michal Riha and associate Jennifer Bongiovanni personally delivered the pallet of sweet treats and took time to thank the nurses gathered for all they do to care for patients each and every day.

The Newton Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce the receipt of a $100,000 grant from the Douglas M. Noble Family Foundation to support two important fundraising initiatives for Atlantic Health System’s Newton Medical Center - $50,000 toward a $1million Oncology Expansion Project in Sparta and $50,000 toward the creation of an Oncology Patient Assistance Fund for Newton Medical Center. It was a great night at the 2025 "An Evening of Wine & Roses"! The Newton Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center Foundations thank the 500+ attendees, sponsors and volunteers who came out to enjoy a Grand Prix celebration-themed evening at Perona Farms! Proceeds will benefit the Newton Medial Center Foundation’s $1million oncology expansion project at Sparta Health & Wellness; and the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center’s Annual Fund to further advance essential healthcare programs and services including behavioral health and oncology.

It was an inspirational night at the Newton Medical Center Foundation's recent annual Heart & Soul event at Perona Farms in Andover! Over 200 guests heard impactful stories of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) saves at Newton Medical Centers’ service area and celebrated first responders and Emergency Department team members.

All Heart & Soul proceeds benefit the Newton Medical Center Foundation's Community AED Program which was launched in 2001 with the goal of providing lifesaving AEDs, training, and education to organizations in the hospital’s service area. Some impressive Community AED Program stats:
🔸 Over 1,100 AEDs have been distributed to the community since the Community AED Program's inception
🔹 Over 7,000 individuals have been trained in the use of AEDs
🔸83 LIVES have been SAVED to date!
