We love being a support to those working to redefine their lives, walking alongside them and inspiring hope for their futures. Our STAND Board got together for a Christmas party and it was full of fun and chaos! We are so proud of how these leaders have shown up for their schools this semester, we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the spring!

This Saturday, our Topeka Reentry, Treatment, and Homeless Response teams partnered up with some of our Topeka Alumni to participate in the "Miracle on Kansas Avenue Parade!" This is a tradition they have carried on for several years now.

We wanted to give a major shoutout to Sarah Schooler, our Topeka Federal Programs Director for all of her work on this! Year after year, Sarah plans and gathers all of the troops, we couldn't do this without you!

Our staff continue to walk alongside our clients as they rediscover and redefine their worth and their futures each day. We are so blessed to not only help people in their recovery journeys, but to help change their mindset and build self-confidence as they take those steps!

So proud of this partnership between STAND KS and the Harvey County Health Department!

This year on Oct 1st, Halstead City Council approved a new policy to keep their parks and recreational spaces tobacco-free! This non-punitive policy promotes community health by reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, as well as promoting cultural change. These signs are now posted in all of Halstead's parks and public spaces.

Cleaning the air and kindling healthier habits, one park at a time! What local park do you think should join the movement next?

Our second December Staff Spotlight - and last one of the year- is Kay Sampson from our Shawnee Outpatient team!

Kay is a vital part of the OP team. Everyday, she is consistent, persistent and passionate about her work! She cares deeply and advocates fiercely for each and every client, while also ensuring they are held to a high standard and take accountability. She is also a great team member and colleague, always willing to lend a hand.

Tuesday, several of our Mirror staff attended the Kansas Opioid and Stimulant Conference. The day was full of amazing Keynote speakers, thought provoking breakout sessions, and so much more.

Our Program Director, Seth Dewey, presented with community partners over-Driving Lasting Change: The Kansas Fights Addiction Centers of Excellence Model.

Our Director of Treatment, Nick Casarona, and our Shawnee County Jail Peer Navigator, Adam Cobuluis presented with our Shawnee County Jail partner over-Peer Support for Substance Use Recovery In County Jail: Transforming Lives and Jail Culture.
