We would like to extend a special thank you to Shawnee Mayor Michael Sandifer and the Shawnee City Commissioners for proclaiming September as National Recovery Month.

The focus of National Recovery Month is to celebrate the journey of recovery. As the proclamation says, “Recovery is for Everyone. Every Person. Every Family. Every Community.” We are so grateful that our staff in Shawnee were able to establish this proclamation for their community.💙🫂

Our second September Staff Spotlight is Mary Fletcher from Topeka RRC.

Mary is a dedicated worker. She stepped up and showed everyone just how dedicated she is to our program. Her supervisor said “We had to convince her to take a day off to rest because she was so incredibly dedicated,” and “I tried a few times to get her to let me buy her a meal or a treat and sweet Mary told me she would like a ‘cold Pepsi’.” I would buy her an entire warehouse of Pepsi to thank her for the work she does here.”

Thank you, Mary, for your dedication to our program and all of your efforts ensuring our clients are properly fed!

Welcome to National Recovery Month!💜 🎉

This year’s theme is Recovery is REAL (Restoring Every Aspect of Life). This theme, brought to us by SAMHSA, focuses on the four major dimensions of recovery: health, home, community, and purpose. These are the building blocks that all people need to live healthy, happy, independent lives and to reach their full potential. 💪

We are proud to celebrate and promote Recovery Month alongside our amazing Mirror staff, who work every day to support and strengthen recovery all across the state of Kansas!

Congratulations to our Vice President of Treatment Services, Jason Greever, on his recognition as the Mid-America ATTC Region 7 Community Impact Shoutout for August!

"Jason Greever, Vice President of Treatment Services at Mirror, Inc., is transforming addiction treatment in Kansas through his leadership, lived experience in recovery, and dedication to strengthening systems of care.

A lifelong learner and 2023 Mid-America ATTC Leadership Institute graduate, he brings people together, shapes policies that reduce barriers and stigma, and inspires the next generation of behavioral health professionals. Appointed by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to serve on the Addiction Counseling Advisory Committee, Jason continues to strengthen the field through leadership and advocacy. His work creates meaningful, lasting impact for individuals, communities, and the broader behavioral health system...

What stands out most is that Jason’s own lived experience in recovery fuels his passion and gives him a powerful understanding of what people face. He is widely admired by colleagues across Kansas for his steady, heartfelt leadership and genuine commitment to people and communities. Whether championing new approaches, advocating for more respectful, person-centered services, or driving changes that lead to broader system improvements, Jason is helping create a future where more people can find the help and hope they deserve."

We are so blessed and proud to have Jason on our Mirror team! Keep up the amazing work for behavioral health in Kansas!

We would like to specially shout out Melissa Goodman, our VP of Reentry Services, as she was a key member of the "Rockettes" team that made this conference possible!

We are proud to be a part of Reentry Services in Kansas and we hope to continue to and serve more people and communities across Kansas.

Happy Mirror Monday! 💙

This week is a little more focused on our amazing staff. Without our counselors, case managers, support specialists, and our behind-the-scenes administrators, recovery would be more difficult for our clients. If you know a Mirror employee personally, be sure to thank them today! 😊

The Mirror Lawrence Homeless Response Team (HRT) is a dedicated group committed to providing support and services to the homeless community. They visit camp sites, delivering water, snacks, popsicles, NARCAN, and in some cases, pet food for furry companions at the camp sites. Mirror HRT, in conjunction with Lawrence’s HRT, provides case management services, assessments, and referrals for treatment services to any on of Mirror’s treatment facilities.

On one particular day, HRT located a client that had previously diverted from services but was now ready to begin their recovery journey. HRT aided this individual in gathering their belongings and took them to a residential facility for services, where they checked in. The experience was not only heart-warming but lifesaving. HRT’s dedication to this individual not only helped them begin their recovery, but also removed them from an environment of trauma, domestic abuse, and substance use.

HRT is truly making an impact in the Lawrence area and surrounding communities. Their commitment is relentless, enduring all weather and terrain conditions to deliver HOPE for those in need.

THE HRT has now been recognized on the national level. Assisting in achieving one of the Nation’s Largest Reductions in Unsheltered Homelessness! Link to article here: https://www.lawrenceks.org/2025/08/20/lawrence-achieves-one-of-nations-largest-reductions-in-unsheltered-homelessness/
