A notice to our community:

Catawba Valley Health System (CVHS) is experiencing unprecedented patient volumes in the Emergency Department and hospital. This is largely due to the spike of COVID-19 cases. While you should never delay getting care for a medical emergency, please consider whether your health issue could be treated at one of our Urgent Care or primary care locations.

Please note that our Emergency Department is not performing rapid COVID testing for well individuals who may need a test for travel, school or work. Options for testing can be found at https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/about-covid-19/testing/find-my-testing-place/test-site-finder.

Our Urgent Care sites:

Catawba Valley Urgent Care – Piedmont is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Address is 2972 North Center Street, Hickory NC 28601. Phone is 828-431-4955.

Catawba Valley Urgent Care – Maiden is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Address is 137 Island Ford Road, Maiden NC 28650. Phone is 828-428-8226.

Catawba Valley Urgent Care – Claremont is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Address is 3114 West Main Street, Claremont NC 28610. Phone is 828-459-7324.

Just a friendly reminder during a season where patients are changing their insurance policies. All updated insurance cards are required at the time of your appointment. We are unable to bill insurance correctly if your policy changes and we do not have the new, correct information on file. Your appointment will have to be rescheduled if you do not have your new card.

COVID VACCINE UPDATE: December 22nd, 2020.

We have had many questions concerning when patients will be allowed to get the COVID vaccine.

According to the National Academy of Medicine Framework for Equitable Allocation of COVID-19 and CDC Advisory Committee for Immunizations, there are phases for when the vaccine will be available. We are currently in Phase 1a.

Phase 1a: Healthcare Workers at high risk for COVID-19 exposure based on work duties.
Long term care staff and residents.

If you fall within this category, please reach out to your employer about getting on the list.
