What is Medicare’s GUIDE Program?
GUIDE stands for Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience. It is a new national model created to support individuals living with dementia and the family members who help them remain safe and cared for at home.
Through GUIDE, eligible Medicare members may receive no cost support that includes:
• A dedicated dementia trained nurse who provides regular check ins
• 24/7 virtual access to a care team
• Care coordination and help managing medical needs
• Education and coaching for family caregivers
• Access to 72 hours of paid respite care each year

In this important role, Melissa helps match caregivers with the clients who need their unique skills, personalities, and availability, ensuring the right fit every time.
Melissa has already made a meaningful impact since joining us last week. She’s jumped right in by helping to fill open shifts, meeting with our case management team to learn about our clients and starting her training in our scheduling software.
With 20 years of homecare, both as a care professional and a scheduling coordinator, Melissa brings deep understanding, compassion, and a real strength for problem-solving. She loves supporting seniors and helping them feel seen, supported, and cared for.

Karen and Larry had a great time checking out the Cooper Center for Active Living at its grand opening this weekend! 🎉
This new space is beautiful — a multipurpose room (there was even a concert happening!), a gym with a walking track, lots of pickleball energy, billiards and ping pong, plus an art & ceramics studio complete with a kiln.
There are also activity rooms and studio space for classes like Zumba Gold and chair aerobics.
We also love that the Cooper Center houses Older Adult Services, offering valuable resources for Newton’s older adult community.

We had a great visit with Alex Johnson, Executive Director of Newton at Home. Connecting in person gave us the chance to talk about how our teams work together to support seniors in the community.
Newton at Home volunteers help members stay confident and independent at home with rides, light home repairs, tech help, shopping, friendly visits, and more. When a member needs additional day-to-day support, Visiting Angels can step in with trained, non medical caregivers who provide personalized in-home care.
If you are looking to get involved locally, Newton at Home is always welcoming new members and volunteers. We are proud to partner with them and strengthen the network of care available to Newton seniors. 💙
