If you have a surgery scar or injury scar that lacks sensitivity, try this exercise! Try to imagine that you can feel the stimulation on your scar at the same level as the surrounding tissue can. Repeat this exercise often for results. Please excuse my camera awkwardness…I hope this reaches someone it can help! 💗

Erica’s passion for massage therapy began at a young age, inspired by her own experience receiving professional treatments to address back problems as a teenager. Originally enrolled in the pre-physical therapy program at Purdue University, she quickly realized that her true calling was in massage therapy, where she could take a more hands-on approach to healing.

In 2014, Erica graduated from Indiana Therapeutic Massage School in Indianapolis, where she received a uniquely comprehensive education. Her training exposed her to an extensive range of massage modalities, including Swedish, deep tissue, shiatsu, Thai, warm bamboo, Trager, craniosacral therapy, pregnancy massage, reflexology, infant massage, spa treatments, lymphatic drainage, hot stone therapy, Lomi Lomi, and more.

Although she grew up south of Indianapolis, Erica relocated to Jasper County in 2015 with her husband, a Jasper County native. Together, they have two wonderful young daughters who keep them joyfully busy. After gaining valuable experience working at a busy local salon and attending esthetics school, Erica took the leap to open her own massage therapy business.

Her Serenity Massage Therapy was the realization of a dream to create a women-focused practice dedicated to wellness, comfort, and specialized care. Erica has continued her professional development with a focus on prenatal massage and, more recently, massage for breast surgery and breast cancer patients—offering compassionate, informed care to clients with specific therapeutic needs.

Erica honors and recognizes the human spirit along with the physical body as a whole when considering therapeutic treatments. Her goal is to make every woman feel comfortable and seen while receiving their massage treatments.
She is proud to serve the Newton community and surrounding areas. You can visit her at the welcoming studio shared with Bree Bosell Esthetics and Market Street IV Therapy, located on the square in Newton.

My certification for Comprehensive Breast and Chest Surgery Training for LMTs is complete! With this new knowledge, I am hoping to help relieve discomfort of those recovering from breast cancer surgeries and other breast surgeries. I plan on opening up my book to those patients starting July!
