🎄 We're so grateful for the incredible generosity of local communities during the holiday season. At Matthew's Place, our affordable housing community in Albemarle, NC, for example, several thoughtful organizations lavished our residents with love! 💫

✳️️ MT Zion Missionary Baptist Church - Badin, NC delivered individual Christmas bags for all 34 of our residents to ensure that everyone felt special!
✳️ Providence Church of God presented a generous monetary donation that helped make Christmas brighter for our residents.
✳️ Immanuel Baptist Church donated cozy hats, gloves, and scarves to keep our residents warm this winter.

The kindness and support they all displayed remind us what the holiday season is all about—community, care, and love. Thank you! 🩷

🎅 Each year, our Home Office team gets together for a celebratory Christmas luncheon, where we play games, eat exceedingly well, and enjoy each other's company.

🍴 This time, we gathered at FOURK and enjoyed a delicious three-course meal with plenty of options to fit everyone's tastes. It's so satisfying to put work talk aside and just take delight in our colleagues and the joys of the season. We hope yours is merry and bright too! 🌟

🎄 St. Joseph’s Place Has Been Truly Blessed! 🎄

This holiday season, our hearts are full, thanks to the incredible support from our surrounding community. 💝 Several organizations went above and beyond to bring joy to our residents:

✨ Alpha Zeta Omega Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Provided 33 Christmas bags with nonperishable food items to help prepare a holiday meal, along with a heartfelt Christmas card.

✨ Sarah Allen Unit of the Women’s Missionary Society of St. Joseph A.M.E. Church
Dropped off 36 goody bags for residents and staff, including a Christmas card, reading material, snacks, candy, and fresh fruit.

✨ Durham Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delivered 33 gift bags filled with essential toiletry items for our residents.

We are so grateful for these acts of kindness that remind us of what the season is all about—community, compassion, and care. ❤️

🎅🏼 Managers and staff at our affordable housing communities came together last week for their annual Christmas party! They met at The Willows, our community in Burlington, for food, fellowship, and fun – including some competitive rounds of holiday games! (See the comments for a clip!)

Members of the EveryAge home office team joined them, and it was a terrific time of coming together, renewing friendships, and meeting new colleagues. Although it's a bit of a feat to get people from across the state in one location, it's well worth the effort! 🎄

Inspired by hygiene bags donated by Community Church to West Stanly Christian Ministries, residents at Matthew's Place (our affordable housing community in Albemarle, NC) decided to help the cause with their own efforts.

These residents donated travel-sized toiletries and daily essentials and volunteered their time to pack the bags – 56 of them in total. In addition, Nikki Cruz and True Homes USA made a generous donation of bags and supplies to help make the project possible. The initiative shows the power of community – neighbors coming together to make a meaningful difference!

🎉 We recently celebrated another milestone anniversary at the EveryAge Home Office! Tammy Jones, our chief financial officer, marked 15 years of service this month, so we made sure to recognize her long tenure with the organization.

📊 Tammy joined us as a staff accountant in 2010, was promoted to controller in 2013, and named CFO in 2023. We appreciate Tammy's dedication and commitment and are delighted to honor a colleague who has demonstrated her talents and leadership and moved up in the ranks. Congratulations, Tammy! ‼️

At Matthew's Place, our affordable housing community in Albemarle, NC, our residents enjoyed a presentation on 'Living Well with Diabetes' last week. Carleigh Wetmore from the Atrium Health Diabetes & Nutrition Center of Albemarle shared lots of great information and engaged our residents in meaningful conversation about diabetes awareness and management. 🎤

🩸 The Atrium team also provided free blood sugar screenings, shared details about low-cost nail trimming services available at their office, and invited residents to attend their monthly classes and cooking demonstrations. They even offered access to a free personal trainer, which was a big hit with our group! 💪

To complement the theme, we served a healthy spread of fresh veggies and treated everyone to sugar-free cookies—a delicious way to reinforce the message of mindful eating! 🥕 🥦 🍪
