On Thursday, September 18th, Covenant Place in Chapel Hill marked its 27th anniversary with a vibrant Caribbean-themed celebration! Residents were treated to tropical vibes, colorful décor, and lively island music that filled the community room with joy.

🎶 From Caribbean trivia games to a festive tiki bar serving fruit punch, the event was full of fun and flavor! 🍍

The delicious Caribbean-inspired meal was prepared by Glen Berkel, Senior Director of Hospitality at EveryAge, and featured:

Jerk chicken & pork
Sautéed cabbage
“Hoppin’ John” (rice & black-eyed peas)
Mango-flavored sheet cake for dessert

It was a day to remember—celebrating community, culture, and 27 wonderful years together! 💛

🧽 🪣 Environmental Services (EVS) Week wraps up today, and we've been celebrating the hard work and dedication of our EVS team members, who are essential for maintaining safe and clean spaces for the people we serve, their families, and our own staff. 🧹

By cleaning, sanitizing, polishing, and more, these employees demonstrate their concern for others and lift up their own work. We are grateful for this incredible team and everything they do to keep us healthy, comfortable, and focused on providing the best care possible. Thank you all! 🫧 💖

💪 World Physical Therapy Day recognizes the crucial contributions therapists make to society. When injury or surgery sidetracks someone, physical therapy helps them regain mobility, manage pain, and recover from illness or injury more quickly. Along with helping seniors, physical therapists support other adults, children, and babies.

Physical therapists work in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, schools, nursing homes, and fitness centers. Since they understand body mechanics and health, they know that exercise and movement are essential elements for preventing disease and living well. 🙆‍♂️🚶

We're celebrating the incredible work being done through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)—a model that blends medical care, social services, and daily support to help older adults live independently, safely, and with dignity.

Throughout July, The Willows—our affordable housing community in Burlington, NC—hosted a Back-to-School Supply Drive. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our residents, we collected backpacks, pencils, pens, composition books, glue sticks, and so much more! 💛✏️🖍️

Now in its third year, this meaningful tradition continues to support local students in need. This year’s donations will go to the children of East Lawn Elementary School in Burlington, NC.

We’re so proud of our community for coming together to make a difference. Wishing all the students a successful and inspiring school year ahead! 🍎🎉

💝 Residents at Emmanuel's Place, our affordable housing community in Statesville, were thrilled today by the kindness of Yokefellow Ministry, Statesville NC. The ministry delivered items from their food pantry to 37 of our tenants for the first time!

Residents received a box of canned goods, a bag of fresh produce, and a bag with frozen meats. The ministry was even gracious enough to deliver the items door to door. Plus, they've secured the means to provide our residents with a food delivery each month. It's such a blessing, and we're incredibly grateful. 🫶 🙏

🤠🎉 NOAH just turned 24—and they celebrated in true Western style! Their Boots on the Ground anniversary bash brought residents and staff together for a rootin’-tootin’ good time filled with cowboy hats, boots, and big smiles.

But this wasn’t just a party—it’s a reflection of how NOAH and EveryAge approach senior living in New Bern, NC: hands-on, heart-first, and community-strong. 💪🏽

💦 How exciting is this! We recently began installing hydroponic gardens in several of our communities. The units allow us to grow fresh produce solely in a water-based solution rather than needing soil. This week, we harvested the greens we'd planted not long ago at Carolina Senior Living in Lexington, NC, and prepared them for our residents. 🥬

🥗 We made a caesar salad with the lettuce, and Glen Berkel, our senior director of hospitality, cooked bok choy so folks could see the different ways that greens can be prepared and enjoyed. Everyone loved taste-testing what they'd grown and were impressed by what could be produced quite easily with just seeds, water, and light! 🪴🌞
