Today, we’re celebrating the incredible registered dietitians in the MEDA community who show up every day to support healing, challenge diet culture, and help people rebuild trust with food and their bodies.

We’re so grateful to work alongside dietitians who are values-driven, weight-inclusive, trauma-informed, and deeply committed to access, equity, and compassionate care. Our community is stronger because of you.

Today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of ALL women everywhere - including those who are fighting, healing from, or supporting someone through an eating disorder.

Recovery is an act of courage. It is choosing compassion over criticism, nourishment over deprivation, and hope over shame. Every step toward healing - no matter how small - is a powerful reminder that women deserve care, respect, and the freedom to live fully in their bodies.

To every woman on the path of recovery: you are not alone, and your story matters. Your strength inspires change, challenges stigma, and helps build a world where all women can thrive.

Today, we honor your courage and celebrate healing. 💜

In this new blog from MEDA intern Karina Diaz, readers learn what can happen when injury sidelines an athlete: how identity can shift, how isolation can creep in, and why the words we use truly matter.

With compassion and honesty, Karina reminds us that worth is never measured by performance and that support belongs in every step of recovery.

Join us on March 27 at 12 p.m. ET for a virtual training exploring the intersection of eating disorders and Disorders of Gut–Brain Interaction (DGBIs) in pediatric and adolescent populations.

In this thoughtful session, Jessi Haggerty, RDN, will guide us through how symptoms like pain, nausea, early satiety, and altered motility can both mimic and reinforce restrictive eating patterns. Together, we’ll deepen our understanding of DGBIs, strengthen diagnostic clarity, and explore practical, collaborative strategies that support both physical and psychological healing.

This virtual event is an opportunity for clinicians and professionals to expand their knowledge and provide more compassionate, integrated care to young people and families who deserve to feel seen, understood, and supported.

We hope you’ll join us. Register here: https://www.medainc.org/event/gut-brain-interaction/

If “listen to your body” feels impossible, you’re definitely not alone. Recovery can scramble signals - hunger, fullness, emotion, sensation - and rebuilding trust takes time.

So let’s make it smaller. Try this 30-second check-in:

Notice one place in your body (jaw, chest, belly, hands, feet).

Name one word for what’s there: tight, heavy, buzzy, tired, tender, okay.

That’s it.

No fixing. No judging. No meaning-making.

Noticing is not giving up control.

It’s a gentle way of gathering information, and it’s often the first step back into a relationship with yourself.

Want to try it now? Comment one body area + one word (ex: “chest, tight” or “feet - tired”).
