We are thrilled to welcome Traci Thiesen to Shine!

Traci’s goal is to help you navigate through all the experiences life might throw at you by showing up as an empathetic witness, creating a safe and non-judgmental space to process any issue you come to the table with.

She works with individuals across all stages and ages and has a particular passion for helping clients by using their own personal strengths, willingness, and openness for change to achieve their goals through vulnerability and connection. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or any kind of life transition, she offers a compassionate and safe environment where healing and growth can take place.

Traci is currently a second-year graduate student working toward a professional counselor licensure from Wichita State University. She is a proud parent to two teens and four fur babies, who loves spending time with her children, family, friends, and dogs. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, crafting, baking, and reading. Traci's fee is $30 cash per session.

She believes therapy is for absolutely everyone, no matter how big or small the issue. Traci believes you are the expert in your life and considers it a privilege to walk beside you on your healing journey.

It sounds harsh — and it is.
�Because this work isn’t gentle. It asks you to look at the parts of yourself you’d rather ignore.�
The anger that comes too quickly.�The control that shows up when fear creeps in.�The silence you learned to survive with.�The wounds you carry from when you were small.

And if you don’t face them — not blame them, not hate them, but face them — they don’t disappear.
�They simply pass down, shape the tone of your voice, guide your reactions, become the lens through which you see your child.

Your child doesn’t just inherit your smile.�They inherit your patterns.�Your fears.�Your unfinished business.

That’s why this work matters so much.
�Not to be perfect. Not to “fix” yourself.�But to pause long enough to ask: Is this mine? Or am I about to hand it to them, too?

Because when you dare to meet your pain with honesty, your child gets something different…

They get a parent who chooses awareness over autopilot.�A home where emotions are felt, not feared.�A legacy that doesn’t pass on the hurt unexamined.

So no — we don’t have to be flawless.�But we do have to be brave.

Because the things we avoid…�They don’t vanish.�They just get handed down.

Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, or major life transitions, she offers a compassionate, client-centered approach in a safe, non-judgmental environment where healing and growth can take place.

Lexi is currently a Graduate student intern working towards a Licensed Professional Counselor licensure from Fort Hays State University. Lexi's fee is $30 a session. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and goal oriented. She draws from a variety of evidence-based approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based CBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Attachment-Based Interventions
Positive Psychology

She believes therapy is valuable in all seasons of life—whether you’re seeking clarity, working through a specific issue, or simply needing someone to talk to. She believes you are the expert in your own experience and considers it an honor to walk alongside you in your journey. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan grounded in proven strategies to help you thrive.
Outside the office, Lexi enjoys baking, riding horses, swimming and spending time outdoors.
