One thing almost everyone struggles with is figuring out the best way to fold clothes so drawers actually stay organized. We stick to the file-folding method because it works best in pretty much every situation and makes the biggest difference long-term.

A few simple tips we use all the time:

• File-folding so everything is visible at once (our go-to for a reason)

• Rolling softer items like leggings or sleepwear when it helps maximize space

• Keeping similar items together so drawers don’t unravel over time

• Using dividers to keep everything standing and in place

• Avoiding overstuffing, if the drawer doesn’t glide easily, it’s too full

When drawers are set up with intention, they’re much easier to maintain, and getting dressed becomes one less thing to stress about.

One month later, we’re back in this West Chester home and the systems are working 🙌

After organizing this client’s basement last month, our team returned to tackle closets and neatly store away Christmas decorations in the basement. The best part? Our client feels confident maintaining everything we put in place, and that’s the goal every time ✨

🎥 Watch the reel to see the transformation and how our work makes staying organized feel effortless.

From holiday chaos ➡️ calm, functional space ✨

This Plymouth Meeting kitchen didn’t need a full overhaul, just a thoughtful maintenance reset. After the holidays, counters had become catch-alls and systems needed a refresh to get the space working smoothly again. Our team stepped in to declutter, edit, and fine-tune what was already in place, putting the kitchen back together in a way that supports this family’s everyday life (dog included 🐶).

The result? Clear surfaces, refreshed zones, and a kitchen that feels lighter, more spacious, and much easier to maintain without losing any personality or warmth.

Swipe to see how a maintenance session can make a big difference, and imagine what a post-holiday reset could do for your home.

We helped reset this Plymouth Meeting Client’s mudroom after the holiday rush by taming the piles of coats, shoes, bags, and everyday clutter that tend to collect in this high-traffic space. By decluttering and creating clear, functional zones, the mudroom is now set up to handle real life without the overwhelm.

The result? Easier mornings, smoother arrivals home, and a space that works with the family, not against them.

Watch to see how each part of the mudroom is transformed.

Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day by reflecting on the power of service, community, and purpose. May we all find ways, big or small, to show up for one another and build spaces and communities rooted in care and intention. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Feeling overwhelmed by organizing? You’re not alone, and it doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Organizing overwhelm usually comes from trying to do everything at once, following systems that don’t fit your real life, or feeling like your home has to look “perfect” to be successful. The truth? Progress happens in small, realistic steps.

At Functional Fit Home Organizers, we focus on creating simple systems that work for how you actually live, not how you think you should live. No pressure, no judgment, just practical solutions that make your space feel more manageable.

If you’re staring at the clutter not knowing where to start, that’s your sign to get support. We’re here to help you move from overwhelmed to in control. ✨

New year, new maintenance organizing session ✨

Every few months, we return to help this Coatesville family maintain the organizing systems we put in place over two years ago, because real-life homes evolve. Just after the holidays can be the perfect time for a refresh, especially for families with young children and lots of new toys and games. A little maintenance goes a long way in keeping systems functional, calm, and easy to live with.

“If the chair in your room was an actual person” 😅

Be honest… can anyone else relate? That one chair that starts the week innocent and somehow ends up holding every jacket, hoodie, bag, and ‘not-dirty-enough-to-wash’ item you own.

At Functional Fit Home Organizers, we see this all the time, and we promise we won’t judge! It’s usually a sign your space needs a system that actually fits your real life.

Ready to reclaim your chair (and your sanity)? 🪑✨

Hosting tip from Functional Fit Home Organizers ✨

When entertaining, create a self-serve station to keep guests comfortable and traffic flowing. Setting up drinks, glassware, and ice in one dedicated area (like a kitchen island or bar) allows guests to help themselves and keeps the rest of your space clutter-free.

Our pro tip: group items by use (glasses together, bottles together, napkins nearby) and leave clear counter space so everything feels intentional, not crowded. A well-organized hosting zone means fewer interruptions for you and a smoother, more social gathering for everyone.

With new games arriving over Christmas, and even more on New Year’s Day, it was the perfect moment for a purge and reset. Joelle sorted through her personal game collection, donated some well-loved games to an elementary school teacher, and created space for all the new games gifted at the end of 2026 🎲✨

Fresh year, fresh systems, and plenty of room to enjoy entertaining with her family.

Post-holiday reset mode ✨

The days right after the holidays are one of our favorite times to reset a home. Once the decorations come down, it’s so much easier to see what worked, what didn’t, and what no longer needs to be stored for another year.

Some of our team hosted this holiday season, and Joelle spent the last few days getting her home back into rhythm. After taking down the dĂŠcor, she did a thoughtful declutter and reorganization, making space for newly gifted games, puzzles, and all the things meant to be enjoyed in the new year.

Editing, resetting, and organizing now creates a lighter, more functional home going into the year ahead and makes next holiday season even easier.
