Spring-like temperatures made the perfect setting for therapy today! Our rehab team took advantage of the beautiful weather by bringing therapy sessions outdoors, giving residents a refreshing change of scenery while they worked on strength, balance, and mobility.

Fresh air, sunshine, and movement created a motivating environment that made therapy feel less like work and more like a walk in the park. Our therapists are always looking for creative ways to keep residents engaged while helping them reach their goals and regain independence.

It’s amazing what a little sunshine can do!

There’s always something happening in our Memory Care community! Residents recently spent time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air these past few days. Inside, they kept their minds active with puzzles and word searches, and expressed their creativity with relaxing watercolor painting.

These simple yet meaningful activities help support cognitive engagement, creativity, and social connection while bringing plenty of smiles along the way. Every day is an opportunity to stay active, explore interests, and enjoy time together.

One of our Personal Care residents' favorite gathering activities is our wine-and-cheese social. Residents gathered together to sample a variety of cheeses paired with wine while sharing stories, laughter, and great conversation.

It was a wonderful opportunity to unwind, connect with friends, and enjoy a cozy afternoon filled with delicious flavors and warm company. Moments like these remind us that some of the best memories are made simply by spending time together. Cheers to good friends and good times!

Our Memory Care Culinary Club was filled with sweet aromas and plenty of smiles as residents came together to make a favorite St. Patrick’s Day treat—Irish potatoes! 🍀🥔 This hands-on activity was a wonderful way for everyone to get involved, from mixing the creamy coconut filling to rolling the bite-sized treats and coating them in cinnamon to create their “potato” look. Residents worked side by side, and of course, sampled their delicious creations along the way. Some said it was a little too sweet!

Our Personal Care community was getting their lucky green on today. 🍀
With a little help from our shamrock stencils, our residents painted their canvases with shades of green and gold. Then, to make them even more spectacular, we added a little bit of glitter (okay… maybe a lot of glitter!). We love seeing our residents’ personalities shine through their artwork. Our halls are now decorated with lucky shamrocks and sparkling smiles to match! 💚✨

Drumming circles are such a meaningful activity in our memory care community. The repetitive rhythm can be calming, help reduce anxiety, and spark wonderful moments of self-expression. Even those who are usually quiet couldn’t resist tapping along! Watching feet move, hands drum, and faces light up reminded us how powerful music can be. It was so much fun, we are looking forward to our next session.

This week our residents were treated to a very special visit in our Memory Care neighborhood! A wonderful volunteer, Carol, joined us to share an afternoon of beloved folk songs, filling the room with music, smiles, and sweet memories.

From familiar melodies to toe-tapping rhythms, residents sang along and clapped their hands. Music has such a powerful way of connecting us — especially in memory care — bringing comfort, joy, and moments of recognition. We are so grateful for volunteers who give their time and talent to brighten our community.

Our memory care community welcomed the Lunar New Year with creativity and color! Residents enjoyed festive coloring pages filled with lanterns and dragons. As we colored, we learned about the Year of the Horse and the meanings behind the other zodiac signs. To continue the celebration, residents created stunning cherry blossom tree paintings inspired by the beauty of spring. Using soft pinks and cotton swabs, each canvas bloomed with personality and charm.

Art brings us together — and these masterpieces are proof that creativity blossoms at every age!

This weekend, our private Nakashima Peace Garden was transformed into a serene winter wonderland — sparkling trees inviting moments of reflection. The stillness of the snowfall brings a special kind of calm, offering residents a beautiful view and a peaceful place to pause. Our residents truly admired the peaceful view from our rooms in our Skilled Nursing Center.
