Why don’t cats play poker in the jungle? Too many cheetahs.

What do you call a pile of cats? A meow-tain.

What kind of dog can do magic? A labracadabrador.

Why did the dog sit in the shade? Because he didn’t want to be a hot dog.

Why did the cat get kicked out of the computer lab? It kept chasing the mouse.

What do you get when you cross a dog and a calculator? A friend you can count on.

Why was the cat sitting on the computer? To keep an eye on the mouse.

🐕‍🦺 Got a better one? Drop it in the comments and show us you’re the real purrfessional comedian.

☀️🐾 Heat Wave Pet Safety Tips! 🐾☀️
Temps are climbing fast — and pets are at serious risk in this heat! 🥵 Here's how to keep them safe:

💧 Hydrate often – Always have fresh, cool water available.
🚶‍♂️ Walk early or late – Avoid the heat of midday.
🐾 Test the pavement – Place your hand on it for 7 seconds. Too hot? Stay off!
🚗 Never leave pets in the car – Even with windows cracked, it’s deadly.
😓 Know the signs of heatstroke:
— Excessive panting
— Drooling
— Vomiting
— Lethargy
— Collapse

📞 If your pet shows any of these signs, call us immediately at 215-968-3895!

🧡 Keep them cool. Keep them safe.

Privately owned by a Newtown resident since 1938!

Doctor John Homiller, raised in the Frankfort section of Philadelphia, graduated from Penn Vet School in 1918. After serving some time in the US Army he opened a practice in Philadelphia and later in Hatboro, PA. In 1938 he moved his family to 330 S. State Street here in Newtown (at the corner where Barclay Court townhomes are). He worked out of that home where his wife also had a very successful Champion Dalmatian kennel. In 1948 he moved to 536 Washington Ave. in Newtown and practiced out of the stone barn/garage out back (Next to Bethman Auto). Dr. Homiller passed away in 1953.

Doctor Fred Guenther grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and graduated from Penn Vet School in 1952. He practiced in Montgomery county and moved to Newtown after Dr. Homiller’s passing. He purchased Dr. Homiller’s records from his widow Dorothy and worked out of the Washington Ave address until his home/office/kennel was constructed 67 Newtown Richboro Road in 1954. He practice out of his home until constructing the hospital design award winning hospital at 671 Newtown Yardley Road (now Margiotti and Krol Pediatrics). The original hospital plans called for a large animal surgery suite off the back but the large animal side of his practice was disappearing so rapidly that it was never constructed. With its move to a 4th location the practice took on the name Newtown Veterinary Hospital in 1968. He worked at Newtown Vet until his retirement in 1996. He continued to live in Newtown until his passing in 2016.

Doctor Tim Ireland grew up in the Parkwood section of NE Philadelphia and graduated from Penn Vet School in 1990. He began working for Newtown Vet upon graduation and purchased the practice from Dr. Guenther in 1992. Dr. Ireland and his family live in Wrightstown which is part of Newtown’s 18940 zip code. In 2009 Dr. Ireland moved Newtown Vet from Newtown Yardley Road to its current location at 107 Penns Trail increasing the size of the facility from 4,000sf to 10,000sf and upgrading every aspect of the practice to state-of-the-art level.
