Home to more than 450 residents in Newtown, Pennsylvania, the Friends retirement community is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF-CCAC). Residents enjoy Life Care and Fee-for-Service Contracts that provide the highest level of service and access to health care with a predictable financial plan and peace of mind whatever the future holds. Feeling lucky at Pennswood! 🍀✨

Our St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Barclay House was full of festive fun, thanks to the incredible sounds of Alec and Kevin 🎶

Residents enjoyed delicious food, toe-tapping Irish tunes, and plenty of smiles all around 💚 From clapping along to the music to sharing laughs with friends, it was a celebration to remember!

Live music at Pennswood Village? You know what that means… time to get those dancing shoes on! 🎶💃🕺

Last week, Tanglewood brought the music, the rhythm, and all the good vibes — and our residents did the rest! From toe-tapping to full spins on the dance floor, it didn’t take long before the room was filled with laughter, dancing, and a whole lot of fun. There’s just something about live music that brings everyone together.

While mathematicians celebrate the number π (3.14), we’re celebrating the best kind of pie — the kind you can eat! Apple, blueberry, chocolate cream… today is the perfect excuse to enjoy a slice with friends and neighbors.

And at Pennswood, we celebrate in style thanks to our talented in-house pastry chef and baker who always know how to make the day a little sweeter.

Aloha from Barclay House! 🌺🌴

Residents recently traded in their everyday routine for a little island fun at our Barclay House Luau! With tropical decorations, yummy food, and plenty of laughter, the afternoon brought a taste of the islands right here to Pennswood.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a luau without a little dancing… and yes, a few residents even showed off their hula moves! From great food to great company, it was a fun and lighthearted way to spend time together.

A special thank you to the Tehani Mid-East and Polynesian Dance Company for helping us celebrate and bringing authentic island energy to the party! 🌴✨

We had a fantastic and informative session with Dietitian Allie and Sous Chef Kerry as they presented to residents on the benefits of adding more fiber to your diet! 🥦🍎🌾

From supporting heart health ❤️ to improving digestion and boosting overall wellness 💪, our residents learned how simple, delicious changes can make a big difference. Chef even shared tasty ways to incorporate fiber-rich ingredients into everyday meals! 👨‍🍳✨

Our Expanded One-Bedroom apartment takes the traditional galley kitchen concept and opens it up into a more connected kitchen and living space—because who says a galley kitchen has to feel closed in?
