We have recently become a provider for Independence Blue Cross Blue Shield which includes many IBC plans as well as Amerihealth. This is in addition to being an in-network provider for United Health Care, Cigna, Highmark and the VA. We are continuing to see Aetna patients with out of-network benefits that cover acupuncture.

​Dr. Steven M. Pertes M.S., L.Ac., DPT has over 25 years of clinical experience in treating patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems. In his practice he merges traditional Chinese Acupuncture practice with the evidenced-based, modern medicine technique of dry trigger point needling, and uses Acupuncture Physical Therapy treatments as a comprehensive approach to healing, pain management and preventative care.

Dr. Pertes' other interests include Aikido, Qigong, and Meditation. He holds a 4th degree black belt in Kokikai Aikido, a mind/body martial art which uses the individual's internal powers as a form of self-defense.

There is a lot of debate on who is best to perform Dry Needling for trigger points. An Acupuncturist or Physical Therapist? The laws are even different in each State.
