I am the owner and operator of a modest massage therapy studio in Newtown, Connecticut. Life is generally good.
I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2006, and have practiced in Michigan, Florida, and Connecticut. My education has been diverse; I enjoyed taking classes in a plethora of subjects over the years. I hold two Bachelor of Arts degrees, with focuses in music performance, French, and English. I also had the pleasure of living and studying in France for a year, a beautiful country that will always hold a special place in my heart. My work experience prior to massage therapy includes teaching French at the university level, medical office management, and retail management. Preferred pastimes generally involve music, whether it's playing the flute or listening to anything interesting from anywhere, no matter the genre. I also enjoy poetry, plays, and the occasional novel. Long walks in forests are always good, but I prefer them sans mosquitos and bears. I live a quiet life with my husband, son, mother-in-law, and cats in a lovely old money-sucking Victorian in Thomaston, Connecticut.

Welcome, March’s winds of change, bringing us the light and warmth at the end of winter’s tunnel.
So much to celebrate this month. There’s tomorrow’s blood moon and eclipse, and the Indian festival of Holi. We have the recommencement of daylight savings time, and the balance of the equinox. We have the Muslim festival of Eid and St. Patrick’s Day. These events will brighten our spirits as we wait less than patiently for the end of winter.
My table awaits if you need to get away and relax. Choose floral essential oils and New Age music with bird song to accompany your massage . You’ll leave feeling sunnier with a spring to your step so to speak.
Cheers. ☀️

Welcome February.
Greetings all.
As we welcome February with Groundhog Day, Candlemas and Imbolc, we find ourselves halfway between the winter solstice and the vernal equinox. The holidays are well behind us, the days are getting longer, and we're back to the hustle and bustle of productivity. Of course, no matter what Punxsutawney Phil's predictions are, we're feeling at least a hint of winter fatigue.
So escape the winter blues with a Guru Getaway. Feeling tired and lethargic? Treat yourself to some rejuvenating table time. Is your spouse's winter grumpiness is getting on your nerves? Get them on my schedule. Perchance a stressed-out coworker is distracting you at work? Send them my way. My studio awaits.
Relax and recharge, folks. It's good for the body and mind. 🌞

Useful information.
Tendon Vs Ligament ✅
🦴 TENDON
→ Connects muscle to bone
→ Made of dense, parallel collagen fibers (very strong, low elasticity)
→ Transfers force generated by muscle contraction to bone
→ Enables movement at joints
→ Poor blood supply → heals slowly when injured
→ Examples: Achilles tendon, biceps tendon
🦴 LIGAMENT
→ Connects bone to bone
→ Made of collagen fibers with slight elasticity
→ Provides joint stability and alignment
→ Prevents excessive or abnormal joint movement
→ More elastic than tendons, but still strong
→ Examples: ACL, PCL, medial collateral ligament
Just a reminder that, if you’ll be out shoveling, it is prudent to alternate sides. Make sure that you take breaks, stay hydrated, and of course stretch when you’re done. Good luck!
My studio will be closed this Monday, January 26, but I still have a number of openings left for Tuesday the 27th. If you need some post blizzard TLC, I’d be happy to get you on my table. Your body will thank you.

Addressing the needs of our inner and outer selves is so important. Ignoring them often has disastrous effects on our lives, leaving us feeling empty, depressed, anxious, and ultimately less productive. We all long for experiences that contribute to feeling happy, whole, and energized.
It is widely acknowledged that massage brings relief from physical pain and discomfort. Less understood is its spiritual benefit and hence transformative quality. Through massage, one feels simultaneously a greater sense of centeredness and interconnectiveness, leaving one ready to face life with renewed vigor and fresh perspective.
It is my goal to help people strengthen their bodies and identities, reclaim a better quality of life, and, as a consequence, redefine their futures.
A Brief Bio
I completed my coursework in massage therapy and skin care in Michigan, and I have since attended advanced classes in integrated medical massage and in paramedical skin care both in Michigan and in Florida. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, and I spent a year studying in Paris, France. Hobbies include playing the flute, participating in a church handbell choir, dappling in etymology, and listening to global classical, jazz, and folk music.
Since 2007, I have had the privilege of practicing in Michigan, Florida, and Connecticut. My husband, son, and I moved to Newtown in September 2017, and we absolutely love it. The schools are top notch, the parks plentiful, and there are countless cultural activities to take advantage of. We look forward to many productive and fun years here!
