The tide has taken over me. This time it’s swept me in. I’m too far from shore now. I have no choice but to completely commit to the surrender instead of barely holding on as I did before. Grateful and accepting. Grieving what fades away in the distance and yet knowing the air where I once lived and loved can no longer satiate my new lungs. Dissolving into whatever I’m becoming and trusting everything that will meet me when I re-emerge.

It is important to be compassionate with yourself in the process of healing. In prayer, we can cultivate space, self-forgiveness and clarity to follow the guidance of the Eternal. Not many words, but the weight that they hold is transformational.
