Fabulous Fishing
*This week-long camp goes out fishing every day and campers will experience the summer heat. It is highly recommended campers bring a hat, sunscreen, extra water and wear clothing and shoes that parents and campers don’t mind getting dirty or wet. The campers will take water and shade breaks throughout the day. Campers will be fishing in the rain; however, if there is a severe storm, the camp will be inside.*
Fishing is a quintessential summer activity, and we’ll show you everything you need to know to get started in the hobby or take your fishing to the next level! Our activities will be based in Tyler State Park, which offers an exciting variety of fish species to target and several excellent locations to do so. Throughout the week, we’ll also develop various important skills that all fishermen can benefit from, including rod and gear maintenance, choosing the right tackle for your target fish, fishing safety and etiquette, and more! All skill levels are welcome, and while we encourage campers to bring their own gear if they have it, gear/tackle will be provided if necessary. We will be outside for the majority of each day, so good outdoor shoes, clothing, and water bottles are highly recommended. Bring rain gear if conditions merit it.
